Active pilots underway across electric buses and trucks; company targets 900 MWh annual manufacturing capacity
Bengaluru, 01 June 2026 — EMO Energy, a deep energy-tech company developing intelligent battery systems for commercial mobility, today announced the expansion of its battery platform into the Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) segment. Pilots are currently underway across electric buses and heavy-duty trucks.
The expansion is backed by a planned annual manufacturing capacity of 750 MWh and a portfolio of 25 global patents spanning EMO's immersion cooling architecture, battery management systems, and its ZEN technology platform.
Built on real-world validation
EMO's HCV platform is an extension of the same technology currently deployed across more than 18,500 battery packs in India's quick commerce and last-mile logistics fleets — among the highest-utilisation operating environments for commercial EVs. EMO's oldest pack in the field has covered more than 75,000 kilometres with 88% state-of-health retention, at a point where conventional packs typically fall to 70–75%.
"Quick commerce taught us more about battery abuse than any laboratory test ever could," said Sheetanshu Tyagi, Co-founder and CEO of EMO Energy. "Vehicles charge multiple times a day, operate for long hours, and rarely get downtime. Once we solved for that environment, we knew the technology was ready for larger commercial vehicles where reliability and uptime directly impact business outcomes."
The platform
At the core of EMO's HCV offering is its life extension algorithms and faster charging, now scaled for the higher thermal loads of buses and trucks. The propritory cooling system delivers up to 25% better cell temperature uniformity compared to conventional cooling approaches, reducing thermal stress and extending battery life by up to 30%. Supporting high-voltage architectures up to 800V, the platform enables full charges in under 30 minutes without compromising long-term battery health. Across the hardware sits SENS, EMO's AI intelligence layer, which continuously monitors cell behaviour, anticipates degradation, and dynamically optimises charging and discharging in real time.
The integrated system brings together advanced battery packs, thermal management, charging architecture, battery controls, and AI intelligence into a single solution for commercial mobility.
As commercial vehicle OEMs accelerate electrification globally, EMO's platform makes the case that battery intelligence needs to be designed in, not sourced in. A system developed and validated in the same operating conditions it will eventually serve carries performance and lifecycle advantages that imported or off-the-shelf solutions cannot replicate.
